(Modern replica of the classic Emperor style from the Qianlong period, a candidate for cultural heritage status)

Dimensions:

  • Height 91.8 cm, Width 38.5 cm, Thickness 28 cm

This replica is modeled after the classic wide clock style from the mid to late Qianlong period. The entire piece is divided into three layers. The top features a gold-plated copper and enamel gourd design symbolizing great auspiciousness, with a small rotating flower centered in the belly of the gourd, surrounded by six identical small rotating flowers, all of which spin in time with the chimes. At the top of the gourd is a pineapple flower inlaid with red gemstones, which also rotates when the music plays.

Each of the four corners surrounding the gourd is adorned with umbrella-shaped columnar rotating flowers that spin with the chimes. The middle section consists of a rectangular gold-plated copper clock body housing the timekeeping mechanism, featuring a round clock face surrounded by inlaid gemstones. The corners of the middle clock body also have four umbrella-shaped columnar rotating flowers that can spin with the chimes.

The bottom section contains a square gold-plated copper clock body with a mechanism specifically designed to control the moving features and the chime mechanism. The clock body has windows on three sides, with gemstone inlay around the edges. The front features a crane by a lotus pond and a duck running mechanism, while the back is equipped with a waterfall-style water mechanism. The bottom of the clock is supported by a fish-shaped base.

This clock can chime every quarter hour, on the hour, and mark the minutes. As the chimes sound, various rotating flowers, water mechanisms, and running ducks are activated, creating a captivating visual display.
