Marc calculated the average gear ratio of the synodic phase to have a more accurate offset on the moon phase indication ( compared to the standard of watches)
The report calculated 29.53125 days per lunation.
The average time of the synodic revolution is 29.5305880344 days, therefore we will have a difference of about 58 seconds per lunation; or one day of failure every 1500 moon cycle.

Marc wanted to make a plate that would give me the possibility of being able to set the moon phase and date via the winding crown.
