J.N. Shapiro Watches Unveils the Infinity Series Pure: A Refined Return to Craftsmanship and Accessibility

J.N. Shapiro Watches proudly announces the launch of its newest creation: the Infinity Series Pure, a timepiece that celebrates a return to the brand’s roots with timeless elegance and a renewed commitment to American watchmaking. With its signature guilloché artistry, three-dimensional sculpted hands, and a refined 37mm case—the thinnest and smallest the brand has ever made—the Infinity Series Pure is a technical achievement and strategic evolution for J.N. Shapiro Watches as it continues to grow as a leading name in independent horology.

A return to the beginning

The Infinity Series Pure is not just a new watch—it is a thoughtful homage to the original Infinity Series that first placed J.N. Shapiro on the global horological map. “This piece is really a return to the watch that launched us,” says Josh Shapiro, founder and master engine-turner. “We’re using the same painstaking techniques to make the dial and hands, just like we did at the very beginning. But now, we’re offering it at a much more accessible price point.” Available in two elegant versions—one featuring white gold hands on a blackened zirconium dial, the other with rose gold hands on a frosted silver dial—each watch showcases J.N. Shapiro’s trademark Infinity Weave. This highly complex and visually mesmerizing guilloché pattern embodies the philosophical themes of time’s infinite yet fleeting nature.

Precision artistry, accessible craft

Priced at $26,000, the Infinity Series Pure is J.N. Shapiro’s most accessible timepiece. It is priced intentionally to reach a broader audience while maintaining the meticulous artistry and handcraftsmanship that the brand is known for. To make this possible, J.N. Shapiro partnered with renowned Swiss movement maker La Joux- Perret and sourced the watch case through the Alternative Horological Alliance (AHA), a collective that fosters collaboration and innovation among independent brands. This strategic supply chain allows the California- based company to focus on its greatest strengths: dial-making and hand fabrication. “We put more work into the dial and hands than most brands do for an entire watch at this price point,” Shapiro emphasizes. “It’s not a shortcut. It’s a smart allocation of resources to bring traditional craft to more collectors.”

Pure craftsmanship: the dial and hands

Every dial in the Infinity Series Pure is hand-engine turned using century-old rose engines and straight-line machines. Invented by Shapiro, the signature Infinity Weave—a basket weave within a basket weave—is the most complex guilloché pattern in the industry. “This pattern is the heart of our design philosophy,” says Shapiro. “It represents eternity, precision, and individuality. And the fact that it’s done completely by hand on antique machinery reinforces that idea—every second is precious.” Complementing the dial are J.N. Shapiro’s iconic sculpted hands, polished and finished by hand for a distinctly three-dimensional effect. The solid caseback is also engine-turned and hand-engraved, adding to the artisanal authenticity of each piece.

Compact elegance

Designed with wearability in mind, the Infinity Series Pure measures just 37mm in diameter and is the thinnest case the brand has ever produced. These proportions enhance its vintage-inspired aesthetic while appealing to a new collector who appreciate elegance and comfort on the wrist. The watch is also practical in terms of production. “We’re looking at a six to nine-month lead time, rather than the typical three-year wait for our more complex models like the Resurgence,” says Shapiro. “It’s still handmade, but much more approachable for new collectors and longtime fans alike compared with the Resurgence.” The J.N. Shapiro Resurgence is the first all-American wristwatch to be produced since the Hamilton Watch Company stopped manufacturing watches in the country in 1969. It is the most expensive time-only watch ever manufactured in the US, a feat rarely completed in the same workshop.

Growth through craft

Since its inception, J.N. Shapiro has grown from a solo endeavor into a thriving American watchmaking studio. “It started with just me,” Shapiro recalls. “Now we’re a team of 14 in a 7,000-square-foot state-of-the-art workshop. That includes four machinists, three engineers, five watchmakers, and traditional guilloché artisans.” The company remains committed to traditional methods despite investing in the latest machining technology. “All our guilloché is still done by hand. We haven’t gone the CNC route. The hands are hand- polished, the dials are made with rose engines—it’s all old-world craft done in a modern American facility.” This combination of high-tech capability and artisanal integrity defines the company’s growth strategy. While continuing to develop ultra-high-end timepieces like the Resurgence (priced between $70,000 and $85,000), J.N. Shapiro Watches is now expanding its reach with offerings like the Infinity Series Pure, building a full spectrum of handmade American watches.

Philosophical underpinnings

Beyond the technical and strategic details, the Infinity Series Pure is also deeply philosophical. The series name and dial pattern were inspired by Shapiro’s academic background in history and philosophy. “Time is infinite, but our experience of it is finite. A watch tracks something eternal, yet reminds us that our time is limited,” he explains. The Infinity Weave visually captures this duality with interlocking boxes that grow increasingly fine. “It’s a symbolic pattern, reminding you to appreciate every moment,” Shapiro says.

Looking ahead

As J.N. Shapiro continues to mature as an independent American watchmaker, the Infinity Series Pure is a powerful reminder of what sets the brand apart: unmatched craft, aesthetic restraint, and a commitment to values that transcend the market. “This piece is not just about lowering the price point,” says Shapiro. “It’s about sharing what we do with more people, without compromising on who we are. It’s a love letter to craft, and a declaration of what’s possible when tradition and innovation work in harmony.”

Availability

The Infinity Series Pure is limited to 18 per configuration, and available by inquiry through J.N. Shapiro’s official website. Deliveries are planned for Q4 2025.
